Hidden Efficacy of Mint and Rosemary
Easy for individuals aged adults remember everything when he regularly drank a cup of mint tea or the scent of rosemary. Two types of herbs that can enhance long-term memory of the people who entered the age of 40 years and over.
Before presenting the results of this study at the Annual Conference of the "British Psychological Society" in Nottingham early April this year, Dr. Mark Moss and team from Northumbria University conducted a simple study involving 180 respondents. They were selected randomly given a cup of mint tea, chamomile tea, and hot water. However, first fill out a questionnaire relating to their mood.
Mint tea leaves, said Dr. Mark Moss, significantly improved long-term memory and alertness than chamomile tea.
"This research is interesting to see the effect of contrasting moods and benefits of two different types of herbal tea," said Moss told the Daily Mail, Tuesday (04/27/2016)
In other places, it also involves the study of 150 elderly aged over 65 years to find out the benefits of the scent of rosemary leaves. They were then put in a room that has been filled with the scent of rosemary and lavender, as well as the rooms were not given any aroma.
After nearly 30 minutes in the room, they were asked to follow a special test designed to assess the long-term memory function.
From the results of this research note that the aroma of rosemary leaves can increase the memories of their parents and make them more alert.
According to Lauren Bussey from Northumbria University who studies the effects of rosemary and lavender, these findings support previous research that calls aroma of rosemary essential oil can enhance cognitive function in healthy adults.
